WebJul 17, 2008 · I used a 267 in a 36 Chevy p/u with great results. It came out a 70k mile Monte Carlo. I added an Edelbrock Performer manifold, a Holley 390, a decent timing chain, and a Summit cam spec'd pretty close to a Performer. No idea about power but it is easy to do a burnout and gets about 20 mpg. I had a buddy with a 267 in a caprice and when his cam went flat we installed a stock 305 camshaft and that perked it right up. I agree your engine has way to much carburetor.
