Web2 days ago · I'm using a simple Perl script to read in two files and then output a subset of file2 matching file1. I read in file1, feed every (chomped) line into a hash, then read in file2 and check if its lines match any of the lines from file1 in the hash. If there is a match then I print stuff to file3. I would probably reach for perl. Use uniq from the List::Util module to de-duplicate each row. Use a hash to count the resulting occurrences. For example
